You just finished cleaning your house and now it’s time to fill your home with refreshing and inviting scents. Sometimes you may not have the right candle for the right mood. This weekend I realized I did not have any candles to light after I cleaned my kitchen. To me the best part of cleaning is lighting a candle when I’m done. Read below for the best smelling Summer simmer pot.
Simmer pots are great because you can mix and match different spices, and herbs. Also, adding essential oils to your simmer pots is a great nontoxic way to add a scent. Simmer pots are one of my favorite things to make if I am looking for a frugal way to add a homey feeling to my home. I also like to make a simmer pot before having company over, especially around the holidays. I have some family members who are sensitive to strong perfumes and candles. Making a simmer pot is a great way to add a warming scent without it being overpowering to those that are sensitive.

Tips
Some tips to keep in mind when doing a simmer pot!
Make sure there is enough water when doing your simmer pot. You may need to check on the water levels occasionally and add more water as needed. If the water evaporates, the ingredients may burn at the bottom of the pot.
If the scent is not strong enough add more cinnamon or more citrus. You can also add orange juice to the mix and or a citrus smelling essential oil to increase the strength of the scent.
