I think the perfectionist in me will never allow me to call myself an artist, but I love to create. Spending my day making something with a delicious latte and a sweet treat is pure bliss. Sometimes you get stuck in a rut or feel a little shaky getting back into a hobby. So, if you are an artist, creator or human just trying something new, this is my list of tools to help get back in the creativity flow and get the juices going again.

Happy crafting!
- The Artist’s Way.
- I discovered this book in 2023 on Tik Tok and have been listening to the audiobook. I definitely recommend buying the physical book. I think it makes sense following the tasks with a physical book. The book reads more like a workbook for a class that provides tasks to follow along with to unleash your creativity. You can find the book here.
- Wreck this Journal
- This journal is freedom, it allows you to create something with the intention to burn it.

- Regular Journal
- There’s also the tried-and-true journal which I truly love. Nothing like a little brain dump to let your thoughts flow. Even if you think they’re bad. You can even burn or rip this journal to if you’d like when you’re done. I give you permission 🙂
- Coloring Book
- One of my favorite forms of active meditation. Get a coloring book you really love. Or make a coloring book through Canva or through pen and paper.

- Color Walk
- A regular walk is always helpful in clearing the head. If you are looking to mix up your walk and add a little fun, I suggest going on a color walk! I recommend going somewhere more populated, and somewhere you feel safe/ familiar with the area. On a color walk you start by picking a color and follow the color through your walk. Say you pick yellow, you would follow a yellow hat, then a yellow taxi, yellow sign etc.

- Pinterest Collage
- Pinterest is my favorite type of social media. If you’re able to access internet connection, you can pin new ideas that inspire you create mood boards, even collages! I’m a big collage fan and will sometimes put together little collages of random things for inspiration.

- Do a Structured Craft
- A craft kit may feel less creative but I think it’s a nice introduction where you can create without the pressure.

- Draw/ Paint Badly
- I am horrible at drawing, like truly bad. I think there’s so much freedom in just drawing, it doesn’t matter if it’s bad.

- Talk to Yourself
- Talking to myself is one of my favorite things to do in the car. I love it, I come up with so many ideas and I get to be silly by myself. If you’re a writer or storyteller but hate actually writing, open google docs, and use voice typing and talk away. This is a great way to share your stories without feeling the restriction of typing or writing.
- Switch up your Routine.
- Go a different way home, change your jewelry combination. Do something bold. Try something new!
